George Williams is a part of US Black heritage.
Biography
George was born in 1864 in California. He was the son of George Williams and his wife Anna.
In the 1870 census George (age 6) was living with his parents, George M and Anna Williams, and younger sister in East Salem, Marion, Oregon.[1]
George T Williams died on 6 May 1873, drowned in the Willamette River at Salem, Oregon. He was buried in Salem Pioneer Cemetery, Salem, Marion County, Oregon.[2]
OBITUARY
DROWNED--A small boy, son of George Williams, colored, was drowned in the Willamette river opposite Salem, about 5 o'clock last evening.

BODY FOUND -The steamer Fannie Patton arrived yesterday morning from down the river bringing the intelligence that the body of George Williams, the colored boy drowned in the Willamette opposite Salem, some weeks ago, had been found in a pile of drift at or near Lincoln, a few miles below here. The boy's father immediately procured a coffin and started upon the melancholy errand of recovering and bringing home his dead boy.
