Biography
John Williams was born 1 July 1746 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut Colony to parents John Williams and Lydia Chesebrough. He was their fifth child.
He was married to Content Denison, of Stonington, 18 January 1770 by Reverend Nathaniel Eells.[1] They had 9 children:

- Elihu Williams, b. 8 Oct 1772
- Lydia Williams, b. 23 May 1774
- Joseph Williams, b. 27 Mar 1776
- Bridget Williams, b. 10 Jan 1778
- Desire Williams, b. 18 Jul 1780

- Stanton Willliams, b. 5 May 1782 [twin with]
- George Williams, b. 3 Oct 1784
