Truman Lee Willams was born on 18 December 1930 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas, United States.^[1] He was the son of Andrew Karl Williams and Grace Lee (Grimes) Moore (1910 - 1999).

He was originally named Robert but an amended birth certificate with the given name Truman was issued when he was 7 years old.^[2][3]

He was a United States Navy veteran of Korea and Vietnam.^[4]

He was married and was the father of children. These family members are possibly still living.

Truman Lee Willams died on 19 March 2010 in Chula Vista, San Diego County, California at the age of 79.^[1][5] He was buried in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, San Diego County, California.^[6]
