Biography

Richbell was born in 1720, listed as the son of Aert Willemse and Maria Mat, although there may be "conflation" of two Aert Willemses. They were "New Netherlands" Dutch settlers.

He married Margariet Van Dyck and they had 14 children. He may have had a later life marriage to "Catherine".

Richbell Williams made his will on 8 February 1802. It was presented for probate in Orange County, New York, on 18 February 1814. In the will he mentioned daughter Margaret deceased, the wife of Samuel Mott (her children to receive from his estate); son Jacob Williams "who now resides in Nova Scotia"; daughter Saley, the wife of Daniel Smith; daughter Annatje, the wife of Jacob Mott; daughter Helena Williams; daughter Catalyntje, the wife of William Lyon; daughter Mary, wife of Moses Williams; daughter Elizabeth, widow of James Schriver ("& now residing in Upper Canada"); and son James Williams.[1]

Richbil was born in 1722. He passed away in 1814.
