Hugh was born in 1896. He was the son of Hugh Williams and Nanny Crockett. He passed away in 1909.
After an illness of five weeks of fever Hugh McRae Williams, the 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Williams, died at his home here last Friday morning at 10 o'clock.
The funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. J. Beattie. Mr. Beattie paid the deceased a beautiful tribute and offered words of comfort to the bereaved parents and brothers and sisters. Hugh Williams was a bright and promising lad and was a favorite of his teacher and of the family. The family circle is broken and at the home there is an empty chair.
The pall bearers were members of the Sunday School class of which the deceased belonged, and were as follows: Curtis McNeill, Rex Kelly, Calvin Donnell, Will Cox, John Jones and Alexander Gilchrist.
The funeral service was concluded at the grave at Buffalo cemetery at eleven o'clock. The grave was literally covered with flowers. The family have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
