Arnout Westveer was born on 17 July 1804 in Hoofdplaat, Zeeland, Netherlands to Leijn Westveer and Sia Hartwijk[1] [2]

Arnout married three times:
1st at 23 Maatje de Rijke[3][4]
2nd at 28 Jacoba Briene, daughter of Pieter Briene and Elisabeth Remeeus[5] [6]
3rd at 34 Elizabeth Willemse[7]
Records show that in 1854 at the age of 50, Arnout who was living in Veere, Netherlands intended to emigrate from the Netherlands. He had a wife and seven children, and the intended destination was Buffalo. Arnout was a teacher and the reason provided for emigrating was amelioration of his occupation and wanting to improve his profession. His religion was listed as Christian seceded. [8]
Arnout migrated to the United States through Castle Garden in New York on 7/22/1854 at the age of 49. He came to the United States with his wife, Elisa, and children: Elisabeth (18), Lena (17), Lein (12), Maria (11), Marge (10) Kate (9), and Welsh (7). [9] He was often referred to as "Arnold" in American records.
In 1860, Arnout lived in the 4th Ward of Buffalo City, in Erie County, New York, United States with his wife, Elizabeth, and their children: Leyntye (23), Neeltig (14) and Leonard (19). Arnout worked as a tailor. The estimated value of his personal estate was $100. [10]
Arnout passed away in October of 1867 and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, United States. [11]
