Eudora Welty was born on April 13, 1909 in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. Her parents were Christian Webb Welty and Mary Chestine Andrews. She had two brothers, Edward Jefferson Welty and Walter Andrews Welty.
Ms. Welty was a Pulitzer prize winning author of short stories and novels as well as a photographer of scenes in rural Mississippi.
She died on July 23, 2001 in Jackson, Mississippi, and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi, USA.
