When Harry was 23 he married Edith (Smith) Ward (1883-) on 24 October 1904 at St John the Baptist, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom.^[5] Given that the address for both bride and groom was Frisby's Buildings it seems likely that he and Edith were living with his brother and her sister. The witnesses were Miriam (Ward) South (1883-) and Abraham Smith (bef.1876-).

They had a daughter Doris Hannah (Ward) Markham.

Harry died of consumption at the age of 27 on 14 April 1908 in Croxton Kerrial, Leicestershire, England.^[6]

He was buried at Croxton Kerrial on 17 April 1908.
