Biography

Margaret was born about 1770 to Nathan and Sarah Ward. She married Morris Davis, son of Thomas Davis and Elizabeth Knox Davis in 1792.

Margaret Ward died on 31st of the 5th month of 1840 according to records of Chestnut Creek Monthly Meeting, Grayson County, Virginia.

"MARGARET WARD (NATHAN1) died March 31, 1840. ^[1] She married MORRIS DAVIS Abt. 1792 in Grayson County, Virginia. ^[2] Morris was a son of THOMAS DAVIS and ELIZABETH KNOX. He was born July 02, 1769 in NC, and died Aft. 1850 in Carroll County, VA."^[3]

From records of Chestnut Creek Monthly Meeting of Friends, Grayson County, Virginia, "Margaret Davis departed this life the 31 day of 3 month 1840" ^[4]

Note on county formation: Grayson County, Virginia was formed from Wythe County in 1793. Carroll County, Virginia was formed in 1842 from Grayson, and part of Patrick County was added later.
