Biography

When George Washington Walker was born on August 2, 1840, in Adams, Ohio, his father, Joseph, was 45 and his mother, Elizabeth Whitley Walker, was 43. He married Nancy Ann MORRIS on November 17, 1859, in his hometown. They had one child during their marriage. He died as a young father on December 22, 1863, during the Civil War in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 23.

On June 17, 1864, Nancy Walker, widow of George W Walker, filed a widow's claim for pension, Application No. 54,523. Her application was approved, and she received Certificate No. 95,345. [1]

On November 17, 1859, George W Walker married Nancy Ann Morris in Brown County. They had 1 child:

Laura Ann, born August 12, 1860. [2]
