Samuel Scott Walker was born on August 17, 1819, his father, Joseph, was 24 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 22. He married Ann Jane Sutton on November 19, 1840. They had five children in 18 years. He died on November 12, 1882, in Ohiowa, Nebraska, at the age of 63, and was buried there.
