Biography

Hattill was a Friend (Quaker)

Hattill Varman was born in 1672 at County Wexford, Ireland and lived in Cooladine in that county.^[1] He married Grace Sparrow in 1700 and they had three children together. ^[2]

After Grace died, he married Abigail Sandwith in 1711 and they had 10 children.^[3]

Hattill and Abigail Varman embarked at Dublin on 20d 4mo (Jun) 1728 for Pennsylvania (certificate dated 2d mo.. 28th 1729) with William, Grace, Sarah, Hannah, Elinor, Jane, and Henry (latter two died at sea); ^[4] They settled in Leacock Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
