Ann Tone was born in Ireland about 1812, and married Englishman and cricket player Samuel Wright about 1832 in England.
Their first child, William Henry Wright was born in England, and shortly thereafter the couple traveled to the United States. In the U.S., children Daniel 1837, George 1847, Samuel 1848, and Mary 1851 were born in New York.
Ann's son William would become known as "Harry" Wright, and he was instrumental in starting professional baseball in America. Son George would become one of the first superstars of the game. Both sons would end up in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
There are four census reports that help trace the families activity through Ann's lifespan: 1850 and 1855 New York, 1860 and 1870 New Jersey.
Ann is also noted in marriage of daughter Mary to Temple Craige in 1882, and Ann Tone is cited in the death of daughter Mary in 1906.
