Biography

Claude Thériot was born in 1678 in Port Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, son of Claude Thériot (abt. 1637–1725) and Marie Gautrot (abt. 1645–1732).

In 1686, at Port Royal, Claude, aged 8, was living with his parents, Claude TERRIOT [sic], aged 49, and Marie GOTRO [sic], aged 49, and his seven siblings: Jean, aged 18, Anne, aged 14, Jeanne, aged 12, Marie, aged 7, Magdelaine [sic], aged 5, Pierre, aged 2, and Elisabet [sic], aged 1. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 13 arpents of cultivable land with 8 cattle and 6 sheep.[1]

Name given as Charles [sic] TERRIOT married to Agnes AUCOIN on the baptismal record of her daughter Francoise in 1722.[2]

He married Agnès Aucoin in 1703 in Acadie.

He died in October 1752 in Rivière-aux-Canards, Grand Pré, Acadie, Colony of Nova Scotia .
