Sarah was born 1 December 1833 in Ohio. Her mother was also called Sarah, no LNAB yet, have not found her father's first name. She married John W Smith on 23 March 1854, in Ohio (no exact location, only the county each person is from). They had at least four children together.

She passed away in Wood County, West Virginia, on 29 November 1924, and was laid to rest at Smith Cemetery, Belleville, Wood County, West Virginia, United States of America.
