The Wingham Chronicle and Manning River Observer (NSW : 1898 - 1954) Friday 11 December 1942 p 4 A Obituary* MR. SAMUEL THOMAS THORLEY. The death occurred in the M.R.D. Hospital, Taree, on Saturday last, of Mr. Samuel Thomas Tborley, at the age of ST years. He had been an in mate of the institution for the last seven weeks before Be passed away. He was a native of Mount Thorley, in the Singleton district, of which his parents were early pioneers. He spent the early part of his life follow ing droving pursuits, but some 27 years ago he settled at Wootton and lived there till the end of his days. While there he was engaged in the timber industry while able to work. He was a bachelor, but had no rela fives In this or surrounding districts The funeral took place on Monday morning, the remains being interred in the Coolongolook Cemetery, where Ihe Uev. S. C.
