Biography

Joseph was born about 1743 in Acadie. He married Marie Madeleine Thibodeau in 1768 in Ekoupahag (today Kingsclear, New Brunswick). [1]

He passed away in June 1803 (date not specified in register) and the funeral was held on 7 July of that year, in Saint-Basile.[2]

I'm seeing 1743 and 1748 as birth year for Joseph. Since his Parents weren't married until 14 May 1746 • riviere-aux-canards, Acadia, Canada I'm thinking 1748 may be more accurate. His marriage is in 1768 so he'd have been about 19-20 at the time. He'd be my 5th GGF.

Bill, thanks for pointing out the discrepancy. Actually, Stephen White says his parents first marriage was in 1742 but there seems to be a discrepancy with the same White source saying 1746. I'm asking Jackie Girouard (PM of the fathers profile) to weigh in on veracity of the dates).
