He was living with his family in Baddeck, Isle Saint Jean at the 1752 census.[2] His location was unknown until 1762 when he was detained at Fort Edward in Windsor, Nova Scotia, with his family. After liberation, it seems that he stayed in the Halifax area because on June 2, 1768 he was godfather in Halifax for John the Baptist Girouard, son of Joseph and Madeleine Thériault. Alexis Thériault is also a witness in Halifax of several presided marriages by Father Bailly.
We still lose sight of him until 1785 when he appears as one of the concessionaires of the 1785 concession to Frederick "Tikine" Belliveau and others.
