Regards to DNA I have taken yDNA (111) and BIG700, but I haven't taken the time to really look beyond the basics, I really need help.

My great grandfather William *Casebolt/Terry was born abt.1835, he was RAISED in the family of Silas and Jane Casebolt/Terry of Knott County KY. As a direct descendant my DNA shows William not to be a Casebolt. *Casebolt is Silas's biological name, Terry the household name of his step father. Some family believe Jane was a Musick (b.1812 Russell Co, VA) . Elisha Terry's death certificate (1922) has her as Jane Hughes? An elder claimed William to be a Spurlock; mystery unsolved. On my grandmother's side; my 2nd Great Grandfather is Elmer Branham-Smith married to Mary Polly Stewart. Her father as William Charles Stewart and mother as Mary Crank b. 1804.

Hello Glen,

Don't spend the money on a genealogist until you've worked with Mindy or the G2G Forum people. Start with Mindy. She's very kind and knowledgeable about WikiTree and researching the South.

There. My 2 cents worth, too. What I'm really here to do is to thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. :)

Here is a link that will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree: Getting the Best from DNA

Hi Glen

I see that you mentioned adoption. By adding your branches to our shared tree, there may be an opportunity for someone to find you!

Adoptees: How to Set Up Your Profile is a WikiTree help page specifically designed for new members who indicate they are adoptees. It is also helpful for non-adopted members who have adoptees in their family tree. The page includes links to more resources, like our Adoption Angels Project, basic search techniques, information on DNA, etc.

I wish you luck in your search.

Take care

Hi Lothar,

thanks, I finding this program a little harder than expected. Between FamilyTreeDNA, Family Tree Maker, Ancestry and this. Quick question, but I have to run. I put in several generations but only myself, father and grandfather show up. I added my grandfathers spouse and parents to her, then back a couple more? Not sure why I can't see them?

Catch you later ... Thanks, Glen
