Irvin Strite lived in Appalachia, in Maryland.

Irvin was born in 1892.

OBITUARY : IRVIN LANDIS STRITE, SR., 80, of Waynesboro R. D. 3, died at 10:07 a.m. Sunday in the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, after a brief illness.

He was born in Washington County, Maryland, near Leitersburg, a son of the late Andrew C. and Annie B. (Landis) Strite. He was a members of the Millers Mennonite Church, near Leitersburg. He formerly owned and operated a garage in Ringgold, Md.

Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Catherine E. Williams, Williamsport R. D. 2, Md.; Aden M. Strite, Hagerstown R. D. 6, Elmer M. Strite, Greencastle R. D. 3; I. Landis Strite, Jr., Hagerstown R. D. 4; Miss Mary and Miss Martha Strite, both at home, 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Abram J. Strite, Greencastle R. D. 3, and Cyrus L. Strite, Smithsburg R. D. 2, Md.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Millers Mennonite Church, in charge of the following ministers, Bishop Reuben E. Martin, Preacher Irvin S. Shank. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Friends may call at the Minnich-Miller Funeral Home, Greencastle, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church one hour before the services Wednesday.

It is requested by the family that flowers be omitted.
