Gideon Strickland was a North Carolina colonist.

Gideon Strickland was born about 1766 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, in an area which is today Nash County, based on the 1850 census. His parents were John Mark and Martha (Harris) Strickland.

Gideon inherited two slaves and 494 acres of land from his father in 1811. See John Mark's will on his profile. [1]

Gideon married Elizabeth Hogg about 1795 in Nash County, based on the age of his first-known child.

He owned seven slaves in 1850. [2]

Gideon died between the 1850 [3] and 1860 censuses.
