Biography
A direct descendant of Silas Stratton b. 1780 and Elisabeth "Betsy" Harris, thru their son, Ezra Millard Stratton. Me & my cousin have spent more than 35 years researching our Stratton-Young grandparents and their roots. DNA & genealogical documentation prove that Silas is NOT the son of Lott Stratton or Rufus Stratton as many trees indicate, and is a descendant of Samuel Stratton I, patriarch of the Watertown, MA Strattons. Silas' mom descended from Millard & Peck of Rehoboth, MA.
Silas Stratton b.1780 and Silvanus Stratton b. 1778 are two different people. Based on DNA matches Daniel Stratton and Mary Dormer / Dame cannot be the parents of Silas Stratton.
As a direct descendant of Silas, DNA matches confirm that Lot Stratton b. 4 Feb 1756 Deerfield, Cumberland County, New Jersey is NOT the father of Silas. LOT Stratton does not leave NJ until 1787!
