Elizabeth (Stoke) Hayes is a part of US Black heritage.

Birth and Family

Elizabeth Stoke was born 19 April 1869 in Acworth, Georgia.[1] Her Death Certificate states her father was Thomas Stokes.[2]

Marriage and Family

Elizabeth Stoke married on 20 March 1906.[3]

In 1930, Elizabeth and her husband John A. Hayes are each 59 years old. He is a janitor in a public school and she is a florist with a home 'lab'.[4]

In 1940, Elizabeth, age 70, and her husband, John Hayes, age 69, live in Muskegon Heights City, Muskegon, Michigan, United States. Living with them is Imogene Hayes, age 15, who is listed as their daughter, born in Kansas. [5] Further research is needed to determine other family members.

Baha'i Faith

Elizabeth Stokes Hayes enrolled as a Baha'i in February 1924.[6]

Death and Burial

Elizabeth Hayes death is mentioned in the "In Memoriam" column, March 1946 American Baha'i on page 3.[7] She died 05 Feb 1944 in Muskegon Heights, Muskegon, Michigan, United States.[8]She is buried in Mona View Cemetery, Muskegon Heights, Muskegon County, Michigan, USA.[9]
