Biography

James was born in 1851. He married, about 1876, to Margaret Anderson, in Scotland. Two sons were born in Scotland, then they emigrated to Pennsylvania about 1880.

Their children were:

1. James Stirling b. 1877
2. Thomas Stirling b 1879
3. Mary Stirling 1881-1962
4. John William Stirling 1883-1978^[1]
5. Russell Stirling b 1885
6. Jean Braid Stirling 1888-1954^[2][3]
7. Albert Stirling b 1890

He is recorded as a baker in 1900, 1910 and 1920 in Allegheny, PA. Daughter Mary was born in PA, then the younger 4 children were born in Ohio (Cleveland?), then they apparently moved back to Pittsburgh. In 1930 he is 78 and no longer working.
