Goal

The England team use a standard set of statistics to check on the progress of each county and to highlight areas which need work.

The most recent statistics for Hertfordshire can be found here. These tables gives an overview of the profiles, showing how our branch of the tree is growing and how its quality is improving.

Images to the Right

Over the last couple of years we have been indebted to a sequence of helpful people -- most recently Trevor Pickup -- for publishing the weekly statistics about Hertfordshire's 'problem' profiles. I have been making a note of these numbers week by week, and now present them in the form of three charts. I will try to update them occasionally. -- Russell Gerrard

Hi guys/gals,

The stats this week DO NOT yet reflect the contributions from the Source-A-Thon. I was looking at all the counties in East England and wondering what went wrong or what parameter has changed. No, the sourced profiles from over this past weekend are still yet to drop off. Click on say 1900s or 1800s unsourced and you'll see a ton of comments indicating a profile has been improved with a source added.

So that total in "unsourced" is technically wrong at this point. I'm not sure if we're getting a revision later this week, or if it won't be until next week, but please do not feel discouraged.

A merge was proposed between Miller-1303 and Miller-16002 some time ago and not approved. Neither profile is particularly well-sourced but both were born in Bishops Stortford, Herts one in 1500 and one in 1508. They have different wives listed, but they both died on 13 Feb 1555. Could someone who actually is familiar with this county take a look and see if they should be merged? I found nothing on findmypast.uk.

Hi Peggy, I have added notes on Miller-1303. I have no means of getting to the original documents but it does appear they could be the same person married twice.

Have you approached Clayton to see if he has anything, otherwise I think Alice should be disconnected from Miller-16022 as there is no clear evidence of that relationship and the two millers merged.

Hi All

From saturday, 1 February, we are running a month-long "Go Green" challenge.

This will be region vs. region, rather than counties, the winner will be the region with the largest drop in total numbers (sourcing + connecting + suggestions).

All the contributing county team members within the winning region will be given a sticker for their profiles :)

So if you fancy sourcing, connecting or correcting for our region comment below!

Here is a link to the regional data. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England%2C_Regional_and_County_Statistics_Page

If you have any questions just ask :)

Note that you don’t need to sign up if you are already a member of this team. There's something for everyone to do, whether it be sourcing, connecting, or working on suggestions. Also, if you are concentrating on connecting, you may be able to find your county/region of choice on our largest branches page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England%27s_Largest_Unconnected_Branches
