Privately Held Resources

  • Owen County Cousins by Rosemary Fulk Lovell -- I have a copy of this in my possession. It contains the lineage of several families that originated in Pennsylvania and moved through North Carolina and on to Owen County, Indiana. Some of the main surnames are: VOLCK/FULK, FISCUS, ARNEY, CONDER, HAUSER -- Fiscus-32
  • Descendants of Benjamin Courson, Sr.: A record of their Westward movement through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois by Steve Courson -- This is a pdf version of a lineage that one of my distant cousins put together. At least some of the people contained in this lineage are people who were created by the infamous DeCoursey GEDCOM that you'll run into sooner or later. -- Fiscus-32
  • Monroe, Licking, Ohio Resources. Hi, Dave Dardinger I'll be glad to check anyone you want in any of the documents you want and you get the credit! To get to the site, go to the top of the page and click

Together Everyone Achieves More. Thank you for teaming up with Team Roses to clean up 158,784 suggestions on our shared tree. What an amazing feat! And what a good time!
The Virginia Spring Cleaners thank you for the 1,699 Suggestions cleaned during the Thon. It was another great showing of community collaboration (and fun!) and we appreciate all that you did!

I have a serious question here. Would you prefer - specifically for this "contest" - that I/we do the "bare minimum" to get a profile off the list (i.e. take care of the stated problem, like where they died before they were born) or once we're there and researching, should we go ahead and add a found marriage record or census record or published family history or FAG link AND clean up a really messy (or create a missing) biography?

I've been able to "fix" nearly every profile I've opened, but I admit that I've gone down a few "rabbit holes" and not been as speedy as I might have been. In other words, you want fast or you want as complete as possible with at least two linked sources?

posted by Carole (Kirch) Bannes
Carole...Either is acceptable. There's advantages and disadvantages to each.

The biggest disadvantage is the rabbit holes. They can get very deep. I've even had them lead to multiple profiles and it turns into a project of it's own.

I would do what you are comfortable with. Obviously the more info on a profile the better but I know that we each have our personal limitations. Form a personal standpoint I'm not concerned about how many we fix. I'd rather fix 10 correctly than 100 that shoot up the stats but are really not any better off.

Hi, I know it’s to late to join the actual clean a thon but I followed the links here from the source a thon. I joined the monthly and weekly ones but didn’t know you had to be on a team to count lol

I’d like to join the Great Lakes team for the source a thon. I’ve already added some but have no idea where I can find them. My name shows up at the bottom saying that I added but no where on the list of people does my name show up :( also no badges from anywhere.

Alice...source-a-thon numbers only update during that event. Clean-a-thon numbers will only show if you had registered during the registration period.

Please feel free to make contributions regardless. We are always looking to improve the quality of the tree.
