Hi Nancy, many thanks for all your contributions to our shared tree. I was just looking at a couple of Hardman profiles you have recently created and wondered whether you have any more sources for Peter Hardman (1796-) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hardman-3331. The 1851 census referenced seems to show him married to a Betty, whereas the Frances (Hardman) Pilkington (bef.1826-bef.1882) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hardman-3329 whose father he was attached as had a christening record with parents Peter and Mary.

Best regards,

Maddy (co-leader of the England project)

Do you see him in the 1861 and 1871 Census records? If you don't have access, let me know and I'll add them to his souces. Someone with his name and age was acquitted of "stealing trees growing" 24 feb 1840 in Lancashire. Born 16 may 1795 baptized 7 jun 1795, Heywood, Lancaster, England England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. Another Peter Hardman, born 15 jul 1795 baptized 16 aug 1795 Radcliffe, St Mary, Lancashire, England Manchester, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1541-1812. Hi Nancy. Hardman is such a common name in Lancashire. There are lots of sources for different Peter Hardmans, but I couldn’t see anything to say that this particular Peter in the 1851 census was the father of Frances. You used that census as a source to attach him and I wondered whether you had other sources to show that particular Peter was Frances’ father.

Best regards, Maddy

posted by Maddy Hardman
Ah, I see your point. The only thing I found to tie this Peter to Frances was that they were both linked to the smallish Heywood. I didn't find any other Peter Hardmans in Heywood. But it does seem more tenuous now than I thought at the time. Do unlink them, if it feels too tenuous. Regards, Nancy.

Dear Nancy,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.

The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You’re currently identified as a member of the Unknowns Team. Are you working on a particular group of unknowns? Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

When Pam (Anderson) Smith (Anderson-20093) took over the Unknowns project she wanted a different focus for the team's efforts. I "solve" Unknowns as I find them. I believe the team is more involved with contacting profile managers of managed profiles to encourage them to open the profiles. If I solve an Unknown, I simply add the father to the profile. So I asked her to remove my name from the team. Thanks! Nancy

Nancy,

Sorry, I missed that. I have moved you to the Biography Team Level 1. Biography Team Level 1 works on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them. Biography Team Level 2 works on orphaned profiles from a provided list. Biography Team Level 3 works on notable profiles from the Project’s Maintenance Categories. Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

Hi Nancy.

You were the last person to edit Olaf Albert (Olsson) Olson (abt.1867-1946). His PM does not appear to be active.

Are you able to confirm that he died in Australia but was buried in the USA? This feels unlikely and worthy of further explanation if correct.

Thank you, Scott Davis

posted by Scott Davis
I cannot confirm this and it does seem unlikely. I must not have noticed the Australia death place when I entered his FaG memorial. I have removed it..

Nancy, I see you created a profile for Rev. Hans Herr, Herr-2010. Is this a duplicate of Rev. Hans Herr, Herr-99 ? Also it appears the daughter Anna Herr has 2 profiles, Herr-1311, and Herr-300. What are your thoughts on this ? Do we need to do some merges ?

Thank-you

posted by Rodney Long
Re 2010 and 99: yes, it does look like they are duplicates. I think WT did not suggest 99 as a possible duplicate when I created 2010 because of the "before" in 99's birthdate

Re 1311 and 300: probably. Also from reading 99's biography, it seems she might not be Hans' daughter. Probably should merge the profiles and remove the merged profile as a daughter of Hans.

Regards,

Nancy

Thank you Nancy for adding to the Haldeman family! Are you related to them? If so, we're cousins. Peter Haldeman (abt.1766-1790) had an out of wedlock relationship relationship with Mary Catherine Turney, resulting in the birth of my great grandfather, Isaac Turney.

Thank you, Nancy for your fast reply to my requested merger. Sorry to have bothered you with an incorrect Profile number. I live in Germany and I have a great neighbor with the surname of Diener that lives a few houses from me. With all the profiles you have created you might have a Diener in Germany. Thank you, again.

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for your many contributions to Wikitree! I see that you created the profile for James Newton Woolard (1862-1934). Does this mean that the maiden name of his daughter is no longer Unknown? Have you reached out to her profile manager to get this changed? (I sent you a message about this on April 20, perhaps it went into your spam folder?) ~ Deb

Thanks for spotting the duplicate in my tree, I've merged them.
Thanks for your work on merges, please make sure you read through https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Merging to understand your responsibilities when completing a merge. Using A merge of Bathsheba Bowdoin (Fail-270) and Bathsheba Bowdoin (Fail-145) was just completed by Nancy Regan. as an example, you have left two citations for find a grave and the formatting is in need of some work on the profile. It looks like the biographical data is under the sources heading. Thanks for all of your help to improve WikiTree and the accuracy of the information on the site.

Thanks for completing many of the merges I submitted. I created over 4000 merge requests since May. That should keep you busy for a while ;).

Hi! You recently sourced this profile with the 1880 Census, but I'm unable to match up the source you provided to the family referenced. Can you possibly add a link to either the National Archives, Ancestry, or Family Search? Additionally, you provided a place of birth but no source for this. Can you add to this, please, so that these profiles are as sourced and accurate as possible for future researchers! Thanks so much for all your work. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Johnson-115550

Good Morning Nancy.. thank u for correcting the info I had in Dean Anderson's profile. He is was my grandfather ... He has a child my mom Patricia Anderson Haines He was married to my grandmother Phyliss Werner's in 1950... My mom was born 1951. Then he married Arlene we called her grandma Fern. I was there the day he died and remember it word for work and I was only 7. Are u related??
posted by Cindy (Mattson) Maas
Cindy,

Sorry, I'm not related. When I see a prfile without a birth date, I try to find one and add it so that it's easier for family members to connect to them. Hope the information is useful.

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the merge notification on William Lozelle Brown of Caldwell, WI. I'm very curious what connection you share, as he is one of my more problematic ancestors, as the only child of an only child (or so his father seems to be). He is my 2nd great-grandfather.

posted by Marie (Hansen) Hosdil
Marie--

No connection at all, I'm afraid, but I do share the joy of a problem Brown ancestor. Mine is 2nd GGF John, born no doubt as something other than Brown, somewhere in what is now Germany in 1829. I have been looking at Browns who lack dates or places. I found your William while looking for possbile dates for his granddaughter Patricia, whose profile lacked a birth date.

Hi Nancy, I noticed the work you did on the Sarah Josephine (McBee) Humphreys (1859-1936) profile, and you have inspired me to do a bit of work on it, and see if I can connect her to the Tree. My mother was a McBee and they are always interesting!

Valorie

Valorie, your comment is music to my ears! Although I'm not related, I couldn't resist the opportunity to research a LNAB for a Sarah (Unknown) Smith. I noticed after giving the profile a new LNAB and CLN, it's now a duplicate of McBee-552. That profile has loads of information for Sarah, including parents, siblings, two spouses and children. Perhaps they will connect to your mother's family. Regards, Nancy.
