Biography
- Hugh Blagg Smyth was born before his baptism of 28 Aug 1823 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England.[1][2]
- On 2 Sep 1847 at Leeds St Peter in Yorkshire, he married Jane Ewart Gott.[3]
- In 1851 Census a small family has begun in a house with four servants.[4]
- In 1871 the older children have left home and the younger children are looked after by a governess.[5]
- Rev. Hugh Blagg Smyth passed away 3 Oct 1879 at Houghton Regis in Bedfordshire.[6]
- Probate was granted to Richard Wall, a draper (and creditor) of Dunstable on 30 Jun 1880.[7]
1851 census: 28, Incumbent Of Thornes, Yorks, with wife 26, daus Jane 2, Edith 1 + 4 servants.[8]
1861 census: Bidwell Road, Houghton Regis, Beds, 37, with wife 35, Edith 11, Annie 9, Chambers 6, dau 4, son 3, dau 2 + 4 servants.
