"ALONZO SMITH PASSES AWAY

Grant Alonzo Smith, a native of California, died at his home, 804 G street, in this city, at three o’clock p. m. Friday, January 6. 1911. He leaves a wife, one sister, Mrs. Laura E. Young, of Los Angeles, four brothers, F. G, and Thomas T., of Yuba county, Chas. C. of Nevada state and L. J. of Roseville, Cal. He was a well known colored man, a native of California, aged 4ö years, 7 months and 3 days."^[4]
