Biography

I'm first generation American from my mother, who was born 1939 Bavaria Germany. I was born 1962 in Fresno California. By 1965 we were living in the Salinas Valley; the land of milk and honey.

Several years later we moved to San Jose, California. I've lived here every since. The weather is great, but all the fields for the children to play are gone. I keep telling myself to move to a more simple place, that's not so crowded.

But for now my family is the reason that I stay here. But, someday I will move!

Hi Troy,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Welcome Troy, and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

Happy tree climbing

Hi Troy

Thanks  for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure there is a location and that the location data matches dates of profiles, avoid abbreviations, add citations & links for sources to support the data, please review these pages   Reliable Pre-1700 Sources  and   Help Sources   for Pre-1700

The United States Project and its subprojects for each state, would be of interest. Adding the tag UNITED_STATES will connect you  Follow this link for  your tags

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus.

Thanks for signing the Honor Code, Troy. I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Hi Troy

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now, I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. To contact me, be sure to use the "reply" link for this comment so that I will be notified. Alternatively, you can click my name to visit my profile, where you can send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page.

Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Wendy ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS I see you have posted a number of comments on profiles. You might get more interest, if you build profiles for your ancestors with documented sources, which other profile managers will be able to see and engage with. Let me know if I can help

Wendy

Welcome Troy

You are now all set as a confirmed member of WikiTree. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Please start with the New Member How-To pages: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_Member_How-To for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and other members. There is some great information in there.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. You can use the "reply" link under this comment or click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Nicole ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. If the email links don't work correctly, they should work from the comment section on your profile page.

Thanks for your note on the profile of Gerrard Trammell, Troy. His profile is orphaned at this time, so no one will be notified about your message. I happened to see it as a result of Greeter duties.

If you volunteer to work on profiles at WikiTree, you will be able to adopt the profile and build it in to your twig of the WikiTree.

Let me or Ludwig know if you have any questions. We're here to help,

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

P.S. If the link does not work in the email from WikiTree, try it from the comment section on your profile page (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sims-6827).
