Biography

Azema (Simon) Leleu is a descendant of an Acadian

Azema (Simon) Leleu lived in Louisiana.

Azema Simon, daughter of Eugene Simon and Arsenne Abshire, was born c.1867 in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana.^[1] She was baptized in Lafayette at age three. When she was about twenty she married Desire Leleux in Rayne, Louisiana.^[2]

In 1910 they were counted on the census in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, with nine of their twelve children in the household.^[3]

She died in Crowley, Louisiana in 1932^[1] and was buried at Abshire Cemetery in Kaplan, Louisiana.^[4]
