Biography

Silas was born in 1802. Silas was the child of James Shelburne and Virginia Pettus. Silas passed away in 1843.^[1]

Rev. Silas was the youngest of the 9 children born to Rev. James & Anne PETTUS SHELBURNE Buried in the “Old Thompson Family Cemetery “ in Montpelier, VA Issue: 12 but only 7 lived to adulthood. Silas was the Pastor of the Reedy Creek Baptist Church in Lunenburg as was his father, James, who faithfully served In that capacity for 45 consecutive years. Reedy Creek Church became commonly known as Cool Springsand under the leadership of Silas, became Cool Springs Christian Church and is located about 8 miles West of Lunenburg.
