Christian Frantz III information https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/51857223/person/27340874374/facts

How are you related to Frantz and Gish? I looked at your tree--on Ancestry--but could not locate the connection.

I meant to ask whether any of these folks are your ancestors?

Cameron, as far as I know "AT THIS TIME", I am not related by blood to the Lambs.

As I mentioned in my first response, the family first shows up in an area that is familiar to me. My parents and most of my ancestors were born and raised in Bedford, Botetourt and/or Montgomery County, Virginia. A number of the distant cousins or people that my parents knew or knew about, married Lambs, Quarles/Qualls and Pollards, so I have researched a number of them over the years.

I am not sure of the location you meant by your statement of "a small community of mostly farmers during the time of 1800-1900". But today, the area around Roanoke, Virginia is still rural.

I don't have an answer for either parent of Archibald. Another of those "various opinions" situations.

Word to the wise... Never delete a profile from your database, disconnect. Chances are months/years later, you will find that you really do need that profile!! And then you have to do all the work AGAIN if it was deleted!!!! Voice of experience here!😏

And you may never get all your "mistakes" from early research fixed. I still find them in my tree!!!

By small community I meant Hardin County, TN, where some of them moved from Va. Some land there was inherited which may have prompted the move initially. Thank you for your input.

Yes, the Quarles/Qualls line with Louisa Q. Lamb (1802) is also central to my research in this line, since she is my 3GGM. There are lots in the line named Louisa as well. I have Archibald I (4GGF) & II (3GGM), but then my line veered away from Archibald III through their daughter, Levica Louisa (Lamb) Pollard. By looking at their siblings' marriages and the names of their children it seems the Quarles, Lambs, and Pollards were somewhat close with some intermarriage among the siblings of my ancestors. I think it was a small community of mostly farmers during the time of 1800-1900. At least 2 or 3 times a year I have to revisit this line because a problem pops up, and I just deleted the parents of Archibald I, in order to research them further. Do you happen to know the parents of Archibald I? I had Monroe Lamb as the father but haven't found enough yet to be confidant. If you see a problem, I always welcome suggestions. I have spent the last year trying to correct mistakes I made when I was newer to genealogy, and there are many to go. Thanks, Cameron

In Hardin County, there are 3 generations of Archibald Lamb starting with #1 born around 1744, #2 born around 1800, and #3 born around 1847. There are so many with the same names in each generation that it is an unceasing challenge to keep them on track.

Cameron, I completely agree on the difficulty.

I hope that when I added comments/sources on the three profiles that you mention, Archibald Henry Lamb (abt.1744-), Archibald Lamb (abt.1760-aft.1830), and Archibald Lamb (1800-aft.1860), that I managed to get them on the correct profile.

The family started out in the section of Virginia that is familiar to me and that is how I got involved. The Qualls/Quarles line of Louisa (Qualls) Lamb (1802-aft.1860) who married Archibald Lamb (1800-aft.1860) is another line that seems to get confusing as well.

Take Care. Barbara
