Biography
Johann Schmitt and his wife Gertrud had at least seven children, all of whom lived in the Lebach-Hüttersdorf region.

He is assumed to be the Johann Schmid of Saubach who died on February 20th, 1706 and was buried in Nalbach.

Research Notes
Death Place - Johann is assumed to have died in Saubach, the village where he lived at his time of death. Saubach was part of the Vierherrschaft Lebach, which governed by Kurtrier, the Herren von Hagen zur Motten, the Dukes of Lorraine and the Fraulautern Abbey until 1787.
