Biography

Hello all my name is Debbie Jeanne Schmitt McDonald, and i live in White Pine, Tn, but originally from Clarence Center, (right to the NE of Buffalo) New York. I was born in Buffalo in 1952, and was raised in a small town outside of Buffalo called Clarence Center. I was raised in this town and had graduated from Clarence Sr. High School in 1970. I was a late bloomer in this addictive field of genealogy. My family is mainly from NY, Canada, and England, France and Germany. From my grandmother on one side to great grandparents on other side, they are all from other countries.. On my dads maternal side the Davis, when i found out that my 4th great grandfather Lewis Davis from Wales bn 1740 and died 01 OCT 1776, during the Battle of White Plains, in New York, when the English pushed George Washington back and George had to cross the Potomac River, i was hooked on the history of the family. So from that on, say about 20 years now i have ben working on family history. I have one room in the house, my office, and i have things scattered i know where all is tho.

Several months ago (2018) I had my DNA tested and this is the results i got:

  • 1. England, Wales, and Northwestern Europe--56 percent

2. Ireland and Scotland-14 percent 3. Germanic Europe-13 percent a Germany and the Midwestern United States 4. France-10percent 5. Sweden-5 percent 6. Norway-2 percent

Hoping to get my brother's DNA tested soon

As a Wiki Tree beginner, well I have been here now what bout 32 days , i have all my trees on Ancestry, so i have been doing my tree here one person at a time. I would love to help in any way i can....

My family researching, i would love to go as far back as I can, as I love history pertaining to the family.

Hi Deborah

I've tried contacting you through a message on a profile you manage, Unknown-373655, and through private messages and a trusted list request, to ask you to update the Last Name at Birth on this profile. As this still remains outstanding could you please action or alternatively orphan the profile so I can do it? Thanks Sarah

Hi Deborah,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hi Deborah,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for your message.

Unfortunately I'm not at all well at the minute, so the best person to have a word with is the other Cornwall person on point, Gillian (she's super-lovely). HTH!

Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Thank you so much for your kind message of support re. my freespace page, it was very thoughtful of you and I wish you well with your grandfather's profile and the Lancashire calico industry.

Gillian

Hi Deborah,

I’m Susie the new leader of the England Project. We are contacting all existing members of the project to find out how you are currently involved, and how you would like to be involved moving forward. Please have a look at the England Project page for more information, and then contact either myself or Gillian to let us know what you’d like to do, or if you have any questions. We can then list your interests, help you join the team in the Google group forum for England, and give you any help you might need to get going. If we don’t hear back from you we’ll assume you no longer want to be a part of the England Project at this time.

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you,

Susie :-)
