Biography

Had 8 children with two wives. The first 2 with Gertrude, then 6 more with Anna.

Naturalization record states that he was born in Kreuzeber. Other sites list his birthplace as Kreuzebra, but the handwriting on the naturalization record is clear. He states that he emigrated on the Hansa from Bremen on 28 March 1868, arrived in NY on 12 April 1868. He lists 8 children, excluding Bertha who is linked as his child (with an unusual gap of years to the next child) on his findagrave page.

Also on the naturalization record he states that in 1875 his father, "Frank," told him he was an US citizen and he never questioned it. He held the following offices in Woodville, Wisconsin, prior to naturalizing: town supervisor (2 years), chairman of the town (2.5 years), juror in Calument County twice, school treasurer (9 years).
