Perhaps you would like to join the South African Roots Project? You can do this by clicking this link here and answer the post. Besides links to sources, there are help pages that might also be useful. The SA Roots project also has some great sub-projects: Anglo Boer War, 1820 Settlers, Cape of Good Hope, Voortrekkers and British Home Children. Note however, that it's not required that you be in a project or subproject to be able to contribute to profiles from those periods in time / location / projects, but the project offers some handy help pages for guidelines. Many / most of the South African genealogical lines and profiles of the eighteenth and seventeenth periods (and earlier) have already been made. Many have also been validated with primary sources.

(In Afrikaans) - in Suid-Afrika, Nederland en elders word die tussenvoegsel in vanne met klein letters gespel, tensy dit anders op die primêre rekords gespel word, byvoorbeeld van der Merwe, van der Walt, van den Berg, du Preez, de Villiers ens.
