My interest in Genealogy started at a young age when my Great Aunt Ruth Keller Chatterton (b. 1888 d. 1974) came to visit us. She always lived up to her name "Chatterton" because she loved to talk and talk about the Family Genealogy. She started the Edward Fuller line documentation of our Family genealogy which is linked to the Mayflower. She was also a member of the General Society Mayflower Descendants (GSMD). Her typewritten genealogy is something I will treasure always. I still refer to it often.
Another family member that was very supportive of my genealogy efforts was my Aunt Carolyn Roos Steepy, (b. 1916 - d. 2007). She also was a member of the GSMD and would feed my Genealogy interest by sending copies of the family papers, some of which are preserved at Fuller Letters and Papers. This space has Bible Pages, a letter from Great Aunt Ruth Keller Chatterton, 2 News Articles about Zeruah P. Fuller Hyde on her 90th and 91st birthday.
A HUGE project that I am going to tackle are the Ashbel Fuller letters. Our family is in possession of letters from Ashbil Fuller (my 4th Great Grandfather) to his son, Heman Fuller and some of his Grandchildren, as well as other family members. They were written in the 1840's the last 10 years of Ashbil Fuller life. The letters were written from 1825-1867.
On the Roos genealogy line, I have started a similar page for Roos items. The link is: Roos Memorabilia and Papers. Here you can learn about my Great Grandfather Ferdinand Roos and his Violin and his massive Portrait that is in the 4 Generations picture below.
My latest research is on my Grandmother Joan MacKenzie Davidson and related family lines. They have a rich Scottish Highlands heritage of MacKenzie, Davidson, MacKays and Bannerman and Gunn families. Many of my Scottish roots are buried in the ancient ground at St Callan's Church (Church of Scotland) and Burial Ground. William MacKenzie and Catherine Bannerman are my Maternal Great Grandparents and my 2nd Great Grandparents Alexander Bannerman and Sarah Gray (Gunn) Bannerman. Seems like a trip to Scotland is in the future!Four Generations: 1st Gen - Great Grandpa Ferd Ferdinand Roos (Portrait), 2nd Gen - Grandpa Roos John P Roos Jr, 3rd Gen - Karl G Roos, Christina I Davidson, 4th Gen - Steve Roos, John Roos and Me, Carey Alexander Roos |
