Johann Georg Rieth was born in 1714, near Schoharie, New York. He was a son of Leonard Rieth (~1691-1747) and Anna Elisabeth Catherine (~1691- Jan 1754).. Wikitree shows her surname as Schaeffer. Strausstown Roots suggests her name was Cochran. Sourcing desired.
Military: 1777 Army Private Capt. Fomer's Co 6th Battalion.[2]

About 1737, Johann George Rieth married Catrina Elisabeth Zeller (~1714- ~1757). They had the following children, most of whom had their baptisms recorded by Rev. Stoever:

12 Aug 1759: Following the death of his wif Catrina Elisabeth, Johann George married Margaret Aulenbach (1740-1813), at Host (St. John's) Church, Tulpehocken, Berks, PA. They had a son:
Peter (1760-1833) m1 Anna Maria Braun (1758-1814); 5 children, m2 Maria Elizabeth Bechtel (~1755- ) ; 1 son peter
Inscription:Hier ruhet der Leichnam von .... unser Bruder Johan Georg Rieth - Er ist geboren den 4 Juni 1714 und ist Gestorben den 23 Juni 1791 - Ist alt worden 77 Jahre 2 Wochern 5 Tage.
NOTE: according to his gravestone, Johann George Rieth (1714-1791) married 3 times, and his other wife was named Dorothy Bernholen.
