I'm replying here rather than privately via DM. The short answer is no, sorry.
According to my notes, while I have previously researched descents to living Taylors from a certain Dr. Edward TAYLOR Jr. b. 8 Aug 1678 Middletown, New Jersey d. 12 Jun 1734 Colt's Neck, New Jersey. (Note: whose wife Catherine MORFORD may be daughter of the emigrant Thomas Sr., son of emigrant John sometimes spelled Morfit possibly of Somerset. But she may also not be.) I am am not conviced of his origins or placement. Generally, I cannot vouch for any these profiles, which can be found here on WikiTree and other websites, but are neither robust nor conclusive.
This is not lineal for me. I'm afraid I cannot be of more assistance, and suggest you build out your profile and connect it to the WikiTree.
As a general tip, I suggest following female lines, and look for inheritance, and clues in recurring family naming traditions or specifically honoring distinctly named grandmothers or aunts. The Grover and Leonard families are old. Some branches well documented in New England in 1600s independent of New Jersey, and as I recall there was some displacement from Mass to NJ early enough to "work" for your mystery placement. Off the top of my head, there are some working class Leonards from Mass who moved to New Jersey to work early iron foundries, who may have had a connection to Taylor laborers and rough-tradesmen. That would presumably be distinct from killed/fine tradesmen (who worked indoors, so a class thing), and certainly unrelated to the Boston and Conn Taylor(s), and the martyr Rowland in England i.e. the Puritans.
Lastly, unsolicited advice, if you encounter unsourced lore about Quaker origins or Taylor nobility, you can probably assume that's false unless you're personally reading the primary source artifact nobody else has ever found. ;-) Similarly, if you are looking at a profile here that was uploaded from a GED 10+ years ago, and the LNAB starts with De or de (or includes any famous anglo-norman family name) and is at the end of a flimsy line with no sourcing or stewardship, that's also probably false. You're correct to be skeptical!
