Biography
Vincenzo Riela is born 29 February 1908, a leap year baby, and baptized more than a month later, on 10 April, named after his paternal grandfather. He is the son of Giuliano Riela and Salvatrice Cascio. His godparents are Filippo Cassata and Grazia Nuccio, a married couple from San Giuseppe Jato (his father's hometown).
According to the margin note on this record, Vincenzo marries Gaetana Gummino (or possibly "Zummo"), daughter of Vincenzo, in Palermo on 29 January 1934.[1]
A 1962 Italian Senate hearing on the mafia calls Vincenzo Chief Registrar at the Court of Palermo.[2]
