Many years ago I paid for a FTDNA Y kit for Isaac Mason, Jr., son of Isaac Mason Sr. /Rebecca Everett. It did not come back as Mason. If there are male descendants of Isaac Mason and Rebecca Everett, I hope one of them will do the Y DNA test to determine their family grouping. P. Mason.

What surname did it come back as? This is an interesting fact.
Hi I am brother to Richburg-81. My email is [email address removed] I have a good amount of experience with Y DNA tests. What you describe about not coming back as Mason is fairly common with many names. What level of test was done? You may wish to email me directly.

Hi Bonnie

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Please do not use abbreviations as these can affect finding sources and sourcing is important on all profiles.

It looks like One Name Studies Project would be a good fit with the tags you entered.

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? Look at the list of active projects to see if one fits your needs.

Once you find a project that interests you, visit their project page for more information and how to join.

Any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi Bonnie,

I'm helping my mother determine her paternity. Both her and I tested in 23 and me. Her mom's sister did also. I'm looking at her matches who are not related to her aunt. I've found 7 distant relatives of my mom's, and I can see how they are related to one another, but not to my mom. I've heard you can pull raw DNA into this site to help determine relations. I'd like to do that.

Hi BR,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
