Biography

John was born about 1808 in Herring Cove, Halifax County, Nova Scotia to Joseph Reyno and Sarah Carr.

He was a fisherman.

John married Margaret Edwards on December 15th, 1835 at St. Paul's Church of England in Halifax.[1][2] John and Margaret had 7 known children together in Herring Cove between 1836 and 1855.

John was a widower when he remarried to widow Lucy (Selig) Downey in 1869 in Ketch Harbour.[3][4][5]

Research Notes

John's date of death is unknown. His last known record was his entry on the 1871 census; neither he nor Lucy have been found on the 1881 census, but Lucy was listed as a widow on the 1891 census.[6]
