Biography

Father born in Ohio. Mother born in New York.

Late 1908 or early 1909 married Blanche Huet.

1910 lived with wife, and "head partner" and high school teacher, Ephenor Brown and his wife and 2 children, in rental on W. 122nd St., Manhattan, New York, New York. 1910 had income on his own account.

1920 lived with wife and 2 daughters in apt. 62, Helena Apartments on Grand St., Helena, Lewis & Clark County, Montana. 1920 was public school teacher.

1930 lived with wife and 2 daughters at 517 Highland Ave., Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas. 1930 owned his house, worth $7,000. 1930 had a radio set. 1930 was a teacher at a university. 1935 lived in same house as in 1940.

1939 earned $2,500, working 48 weeks.

Obituary: From the Bryan (TX) Daily Eagle, Monday, March 4, 1957, p. 1:

Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hillier Funeral Home services will be held for Dr. Charles M. Reinoehl, who died Sunday at 10:25 p.m. in a local hospital after an extended illness.

He was a native of Indiana, graduated from Terre Haute State Teachers College and later received A.B. and M.A. Degrees in Education and Psychology from the State University in Indiana.

After receiving his M.A. degree he was awarded a scholarship to Columbia University where he did a year's post graduate work on the Ph.D. degree. Dr. Reinoehl attended the University of Chicago where he finished his Ph.D. degree with honors and his thesis was printed by the U.S. government.

His text book "Classroom Administration and Pupil Adjustment" was ranked in the sixty best text books published that same year and he was honored with a $500 award given by Palmer Foundation of Texarkana for the best article writte on "A Plan for Teaching Children and Adults, the Basic Rules Embodied in the Golden Rule." Over 200 educators in the United States and abroad participated in this competition.

Dr. Reinoehl was professor of education at the University of Arkansas for 26 years, taught at the University of Texas for 11 summers where he directed masters and Ph.D. theses in the educational administration. Over 200 superintendents of schools in Texas enrolled for their thesis work under his direction.

After retirement from the University of Arkansas, he and Mrs. Reinoehl made their home in College Station. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, and of the Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and was a former president of the church's Bible class.

He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Daniel B. Jamison of Longview and Mrs. John M. Rowlett of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Albert Sherlock of Corunna, Indiana, two nieces and one aunt.

The Rev. Charles A. Sheldon, pastor of Bryan First Presbyterian Church, will conduct the funeral service assisted by the Rev. Charles G. Workman, A&M Presbyterian chaplain to students. During the service the hymns, "Rock of Ages," "Abide With Me," and "The Twenty Third Psalm" will be recited with organ accompaniment by Mrs. Imogene Nash Robertson.

Interment will be made in the College Station City cemetery with the following serving as active pall bearers, Dr. S. R. Gammon, J. T. Kent, W. D. Scoates, Raymond Rogers, D. A Anderosn, George H. Draper.

Honorary pall bearers will include Herbert Fincher, Robert A. Houze, Luther G. Jones, P. W. Burns, W. C. Adams, Walter H. Delaplane, J. C. Miller, Dr. D. W. Andres, C. I. Miller, Frank C. Coulter, V. E. Schember, Dr. Frank R. Dennan of Houston and Milton A. Huggett of Waco.
