Biography

Evan Reames is Notable.

Evan was born in Jacksonville, Oregon, the son of Thomas G. Reames who immigrated from Kentucky to Oregon in 1852.

He received his primary education in the public schools of Jacksonville, and then attended the University of the pacific in San Jose, California. He later studied at the University of Oregon. he also spent some time at at the law school of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.

After briefly opening a law practice in Jacksonville, Oregon, he moved to Eugene, Oregon where he establish a practice in partnership with William C.M. Idleman. In 1896, he returned to Jacksonville, where he partnered with William M. Colvig, where he remained until accepting a position as State's Attorney of the First Judicial District of Oregon.

He married Edith Tongue in 1895.
