Here is my family tree.
Greetings! Genealogy is a passion in my life. Please feel free to contact me - for any reason. I am happy to share anything I have found about our family. Archiving family pictures and anything else that helps tell the story of family, is an important part of my passion. There are many horror stories about people's work and saved articles being thrown away because no one wanted them. I am here to offer them a home if that is the case with your work. Your treasures are important, and I would consider them a treasure as well. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Debi. Thanks so much for letting me know. I am just now reading my emails. So sorry for the delay. It's been months since I've done any genealogy - but today is the day!!!! Hate I missed the "Thon". I really look forward to them. And besides it's always nice to hear from you - the perfect WikiTree friend. Thanks so much for reaching out Debi.

Hello Barry and thank you so much for your comment. I was participating in the Clean-A-Thon weekend with WikiTree. They supply suggestions in all types of categories. I chose to work on location and the format. The information remained the same. For instance, if there was an a USA instead of a United States. If there was any information in the location box that wasn't in the format (like a cemetery name), I put it down in the biography and entered the information in the Death/Birth Place box. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please just let me know.
I am new to Wikitree, so I’m not sure I understand. Does this mean there isn’t actually a source for the death location?
Also, there was a military pension index card for a John Duneagan who served in a Union artillery unit and his mother, Mary. Is there anything that show this John Dunegan and John R Dunagan are the same person?
Thank you,
Barry Dunagan
On April 23 you posted a location of death for John R Dunagan, born 1844 as on the Alamo Hwy near the county line. Can you give any more detail, cause of death, source of information?
Thanks,
Barry Dunagan
Hi Barry and thank you for your patience. When I changed the death information for John, everything stayed the same except for formating. For instance, if a cemetery name was listed in the Death space, a shortened version of a state or country, etc. Keeping the formatting consistent helps the search to be more reliable, thus giving more of a chance of finding what you want. Does that make sense? I looked at John's profile and it appears to be very well sourced. I cannot be absolutely certain that the death information is sourced, but I think it probably is. Whoever is handling this profile appears to be very thorough. As far as knowing if John and John R. are the same person, you will have to compare the profiles side by side and see if the facts line up. There is a place to suggest a merge of two profiles which represent the same person. I hope this answers your questions. How are things going with WikiTree? I've been with them for a couple of years and still have so much to learn. However, there is always someone to help. I see you have had contact with Debi Hoag. She is amazing and a wealth of knowledge. Please let me know if I can be of help with anything else.
Thank you for your participation in October 2020’s Source-a-thon. Your contributions helped us to clear over 57,000 profiles that needed sourcing. This makes our Shared Tree all that much better.
Hope all is well with you and yours. It's Thon time again, this time the Source-a-Thon! It will be from October 2-5, 2020. Do you want to participate with Team Cornbread Catchers in this Thon? Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
It looks like the United States Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
Thanks for all the work you accomplished during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree. You have every right to be pleased with your efforts!
Thank you for adding your DNA Test information to your profile on WikiTree. Your information will be propagated to the profiles of your parents and your ancestors within about 24 hours of being added. It will also propagate to the profiles of the descendants of your ancestors, so they may see your information under the heading "DNA Connections" just as you can see theirs.
Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.
The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.
To find other potential relatives, continue adding sourced profiles for other lines until you can connect on all branches. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.
