He died between May and June 1855, as his will was signed on May 12, 1855 and an Affidavit of Marc and Remi Pothier was filed on June 19, 1855 in the Probate Court of Nova Scotia.[6] His will granted all of his property to his five remaining sons as long as they cared for his wife, Madeleine. His will further granted 36 dollars to be divided equally among his six remaining daughters. He named Henri and Marc Pothier joint executors of his will.[7]
