Biography

John George Plank was the son of Johannes Plankl (1876-1931) and Mary Rose Stangier (1889-1949). His parents were married on 15 October 1907 in Idaho Springs of Gilpin county, Colorado and he was born on 11 July 1911. His family was living in Central City, just north of Idaho Springs, in 1920. In 1930 they were living in Golden, just west of Denver in the foothills, and also lived there in 1940. His father died in 1931. He married Marion Johnson on 16 February 1935 in Denver. Their son Stephen was born in 1940. His mother died in 1949. John died on 23 June 1998 in Fort Collins.

John's obituary appeared in The Coloradoan Newspaper on 24 June 1998.
