Biography

Cora (Pitts) Henderson is a part of US Black heritage.

When Cora Pitts was born on 20 June 1874, in Bartow, Georgia, United States, her father, Samuel Pitts-4395, was 42 and her mother, Ann Richardson, was 39.

She married John Morgan on 7 September 1890, in Bartow, Bartow, Georgia, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters.

She lived in Cartersville, Bartow, Georgia, United States for about 50 years.

Cora's second marriage was to Sam Henderson. In 1920 they lived at 200 Carter Street, Cartersville Ward 4, Bartow, Georgia, where Sam owned his own restaurant.^[1]In 1930 Cora and Sam lived in the same house at 200 Carter Street with her sister Effie Harris. Sam worked as a yard man (gardener) for a private family, and Cora was a laundress.^[2]

Cora died January 3. 1940, in Cartersville, Bartow, Georgia.^[3] She was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia, USA.^[4]
