Biography

Bessie was born on 16 March 1879.^[1] She was the daughter of William John Picot his Majesty's Procureur (Procureur du Roi) of Alderney (appointed 22 August 1899).^[2]

In the 1880 census Elizabeth (age 1) was the daughter of Wm. J. Pecot in Iberia, Louisiana, United States.^[3]

In the 1891 census Bessie (age 12), Scholar, was the grandchild of Elie Picot at 9, Little Street, St Anns, Alderney, Channel Islands.^[4]

Bessie married Arthur Sidney Lyne on 7 August 1906 at the Wesley Chapel, Portsmouth, England, ^[2]their marriage was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1906 in the Portsmouth district.^[5]

In the 1911 census Bessie (age 32) was the wife of Arthur Sidney Lyne at 9 the Crescent Hipperholme, Brighouse, Yorkshire & Yorkshire (West Riding), England.^[6]

In the 1921 census Bessie (age 42), Home Duties, was the wife of Arthur Sidney Lyne at 9, High Street, Starbeck, Harrogate, Yorkshire (West Riding), England.^[7]

In the 1939 register Bessie (age 60), Unpaid Domestic Duties, was recorded as married at 81 Wood Vale, East Dulwich, Southwark, Camberwell, London, England.^[1]

Bessie died on 20 May 1951,^[8] her death (age 72) was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1951 in the Huddersfield district.^[9]
